Youri Tielemans confirms Leicester departure | OneFootball

Leicester City’s relegation to the Championship will reportedly kick start a mass squad exodus and Youri Tielemans is the first out the door.

The Belgian midfielder took to social media on Wednesday to confirm the news as his contract expires at the end of June.

“After 4.5 special years, and with a lot of gratitude, I am bidding farewell to this incredible club,” he said. “From the first day I set foot on this ground, your warmth and passion embraced me.”

“Victory and triumph, love, hope and even defeat. We’ve shared many special moments together. I am forever grateful for your unwavering support.”

The 26-year-old – who has been linked with several Premier League clubs – will now enter the summer market as a free agent.

Tielemans made 195 appearances for the club registering 28 goals and 26 assists while helping Leicester win the FA Cup in 2021 (scoring the winner) and the Community Shield in 2022.
