Will he become a factor at FC Bayern next summer? The loan of Gabriel Vidovic, currently playing for Dinamo Zagreb, expires on 1 July. As the 20-year-old now affirms, he has high ambitions for his return to Munich.

He could be deployed on the left wing in particular, but Augsburg-born Gabriel Vidovic also wants to attack in attacking midfield for Bayern Munich in the coming season.

In 28 appearances in all competitions – including in the Conference League – Vidovic has scored six goals and provided three assists.

In an interview with Spox, the talent was asked about his future plans: „I’m just looking at the here and now. Of course I’m confident that I’ll make it at Bayern in the long term. I believe in myself and my qualities,“ Vidovic said confidently.

Vidovic not surprised by Pavlovic’s breakthrough

Vidovic came through all of FCB’s youth teams from 2016 onwards and, after Aleksandar Pavlovic, may be the next Campus graduate to get his chance and capitalise on it.

„I know Aleks well from before. Top boy, great player. I’m very happy for him. He’s always been very good with the ball. That’s why I’m not surprised by his development,“ said Vidovic about the shooting star of the current Bayern season. Can he emulate the defensive midfielder? He would still be under contract with Bayern until 2025. According to reports, however, Dinamo Zagreb were able to secure a purchase option for the Croatian junior international.

„It would be wonderful if I could play for Croatia’s senior national team one day. So far, I haven’t had any personal contact with national team coach Zlatko Dalic. But I hope that will happen soon,“ he said of his ambitions at national team level.
