Manchester United star Axel Tuanzebe set for a one-match suspension against PSG

According to the club’s official site, Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe has been ruled out of the Champions League clash against PSG next week.

The academy graduate will be absent, courtesy of a one-match suspension. He came on as a substitute for Victor Lindelof in yesterday’s win over Istanbul Basaksehir.

Partnering Harry Maguire in defence, he received a caution for a foul on Demba Ba. The booking will see him sit out against the French giants.

It is Tuanzebe’s third yellow card of the European campaign so far. He was also booked against PSG in France and Basaksehir in Turkey.

Eric Bailly is often injured while Victor Lindelof too appears to be suffering from a back issue. If neither of them makes it in time, Maguire could find his hands full against Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Tuanzebe had earlier showcased he has the ability to slot in at the back seamlessly. He started the reverse fixture against PSG and played a key role in keeping both the attackers quiet.

With Lindelof a doubt for this weekend’s clash against Southampton, Tuanzebe could step in for the Swede.

This can afford Lindelof more rest, ensuring he recovers in time for PSG. Other players nursing injuries are Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw.

Wan-Bissaka’s situation is unknown while Shaw is defnitely not in contention to be fit.
