‘You’d have to say…’ – Exclusive: Mills reacts to major Wilson-Leeds development | OneFootball

Danny Mills feels that Bournemouth winger David Brooks would fit in better at Leeds United than Harry Wilson.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, Mills delivered his verdict on the news that Leeds have cooled their interest in Wilson.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Marcelo Bielsa had been closing in on the Liverpool winger, 23, but has now made a U-turn.

Meanwhile, Wales Online claim that Leeds were monitoring Brooks along with Tottenham, Newcastle United and West Ham.

Asked by Football Insider whether Brooks would be a better fit than Wilson, Mills said: “I think he is more of a Bielsa-type player. His work rate is obviously exceptional and he’s willing to get up and down and put a real good shift in for the team.

“You’d have to say that on the face of it would seem a better fit for the type of player that Marcelo Bielsa wants in his team.

“Harry Wilson is very creative but maybe we haven’t seen the other side of the game so much.”

Brooks scored seven goals in 30 appearances in his debut Premier League campaign in the wake of his summer-of-2018 transfer from Sheffield United.

After suffering a long-term injury in the 2019 pre-season Brooks returned to the side when the Premier League restarted in June making nine appearances and scoring once.

Fellow Welsh international Wilson joined the Cherries on loan from Liverpool last season also netting seven goals but in 31 appearances.

The former Derby County man has 16 caps for his country while Brooks has 12. However, Brooks did win the Wales player of the year award in 2018.
