Zvonimir Boban has spoken about Charles De Ketelaere’s golden moment with Atalanta, suggesting the move to a smaller club did him good.
De Ketelaere’s exit from Milan continues to divide opinion among fans, with many believing that more patience was needed but also many who feel that he never showed enough in the season that he got.
After getting just one assist in 40 games for the Rossoneri following his €35m move from Club Brugge, the Belgian went to Atalanta where he has 16 goals and 14 assists in 63 games.
This has earned him links with teams like Arsenal, but that tactical freedom and the trust that he has from Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini will be hard to find elsewhere.
Zvonimir Boban – speaking on Sky Calcio Club – had his say on De Ketelaere, who plays a position that he knows well as a creative midfielder.
“Charles is an extremely talented player, he has a lot of class but he is slow. Lookman is the real top player at Atalanta, while the Belgian has struggled at certain levels, with all due respect to Atalanta eh…you saw it at San Siro with Milan, it is not easy to manage the pressure,” he said (via MilanNews).
