We very much doubt there will be a worse miss in 2019 than the one you’re about to see.
Chelsea took on Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round on Saturday, and it was an eventful outing for Álvaro Morata.
After already missing one decent chance in the first half, the 26-year-old finally opened the scoring after 49 minutes at Stamford Bridge.
Not long later, it looked like he had a golden opportunity to grab his second of the game when Ross Barkley tee’d him up right in front of an empty net.
Except this happened …
Luckily, his blushes were spared somewhat by the fact he was offside anyway, but he can’t have known that in the moment.
A couple of minutes later, he did find the net for a second time when he headed home from Callum Hudson-Odoi’s super cross for 2-0.
Imagine how many he’d score if he had the slightest bit of confidence?
We feel like giving the poor lad a hug.
