Losing their last four Championship matches, it has been a difficult few weeks for Shota Arveladze and his Hull City side.

The Tigers currently sit in 20th place having picked up 11 points from their opening 10 matches, with a FLW exclusive suggesting that time could be up for the 49-year-old.

It was certainly a big summer of rebuild at the MKM Stadium, with players continuing to adapt to the rigours of Championship football, however, with games coming thick and fast, developing a habit of losing football matches is criminal.

Sharing his thoughts on the situation at hand, Carlton Palmer told Football League World: “You don’t get time in football. So, we can forget about that one.

“I’ve always said that managers deserve more time to get it right. If we look at Arsenal, if Arteta wasn’t given the time that he has to do the project, they wouldn’t be sat where they are in the league and thriving and the club pushing forward the way they are.

“But that’s not always afforded to managers. Five defeats in his last six games, he’s gonna be under pressure. There’s no two ways about that.

The verdict

Similar to Morison’s situation at Cardiff, Hull had a summer of complete change, and whilst the season started on a positive note, these individuals are still adapting to the league and to Arveladze’s style of operating.

When you also consider how close and competitive the division currently is, with the Tigers a mere four points from the play-offs, it adds a further layer of complication to this situation.

It will be interesting to see if a decision is made over the next week or so and to see if he is Hull’s boss for their next fixture at home to Luton Town a week on Friday.
