The Royals eventually got their reward for what was a hard fought performance against a plucky Barnsley side in the 77th minute as Swift rounded the Tykes’ keeper Brad Collins to put the cap on a priceless victory on home turf.

That goal was the midfielder’s eighth of the campaign already in what has been a remarkable start to the season for the 26-year-old, with his performances and overall reputation going from strength to strength.
