Yoshida: “We need to do more against the top teams” | OneFootball

Maya Yoshida challenged himself to score more goals, and now already has two to his name seven games in. The Japanese defender was focused on other areas, however, after the 3-2 loss at the Allianz Stadium.

“We gave away too much in the first ten minutes of both halves, as was the case against Napoli. We need to improve by being tougher, more ruthless and aggressive. That’s what we have to do next Sunday against Udinese.

“When we play against the top sides, we have to be more focused. When you concede early doors, it’s always difficult to recover.”

The centre-back went on to analyse the team’s current form.

“The mood in the camp is good. We have a home game up next and have to get three points.

“As for the goal, I’m not interested in personal statistics. We’ve lost back-to-back games in which we should’ve played better. If we keep making the same mistakes, it’ll be difficult to do well.”
