Yokohama F. Marinos confirm Maeda transfer to Celtic after loan deal ends | OneFootball

Yokohama F. Marinos has today announced that the permanent transfer of Daizen Maeda to Celtic has now been finalised following the conclusion of the initial loan deal that was agreed at the end of December for the Japan international forward. Respected Japan football journalist Dan Orlowitz has just reported on the news coming out of Yokohama F. Marinos.

Dan goes on to report on Maeda’s comments on the news.

“Even after coming to Scotland everyone’s support has been heartening, and  I was able to send good news by winning the league. I said everything I had to say when my loan began, but I want to keep being reckless and continue to challenge myself. Yokohama F. Marinos will always be one of the clubs I love.”  Daizen Maeda.

While this was a formality really after the permanent transfer was arranged for the end of the season back in December when the loan deal was secured, it is nevertheless great news to have it confirmed and for the player to be happy to commit to Celtic after his brilliant start to playing for the Hoops saw him collect a Premiership winners medal at the first time of asking.

You get the feeling that there’s plenty more to come from all four of our Japanese stars next season.
