Manchester United have reportedly felt the need to reduce their demands for Alejandro Garnacho, having initially entered the window with a £70 million valuation.
It comes after the winger sparked uproar on social media when he shared a picture of himself on Instagram wearing an Aston Villa shirt, which displayed Marcus Rashford’s name on the back.
Some fans took issue with the fact that he was donning another Premier League club’s colours and backing his fellow out-of-favour player, while others just simply saw it as Garnacho showing support for a friend and teammate.

Prior to the snap being posted, it was already essentially set in stone that Garnacho would be leaving United this summer due to his post-Europa League final antics; he undermined Ruben Amorim’s decision to leave him on the bench for the crucial fixture and labelled the side’s season as ‘sh*t’ when speaking to the press in Bilbao.
He was subsequently omitted from the final game of the Premier League campaign, with it later being revealed that Amorim had told the 20-year-old to ‘pray’ he could find another suitor to take him on board in the transfer window. Now, he’s looking to do exactly that.
The Argentine international has been linked with a host of clubs across Europe since the window first opened, primarily Chelsea and Napoli, both of who held talks with him/his agents over a potential move in the winter; the latter had a £45m bid rejected in January and opted against returning with an improved proposal.
Neither has gone as far as submitting an offer thus far, as both are prioritising alternative targets. As a result, United have conceded they’re unlikely to recoup a fee as high as £70m for their academy graduate, whose sale will generate pure profit.
The Mirror claims that INEOS chiefs could even accept as low as £40m, while TeamTalk has previously stated that Chelsea would be willing to fork out around £55-60m to add the livewire forward to their ranks in time for 2025/2026.
