Would a loan be more beneficial for Yang or should Celtic look to sell the South Korean international winger this summer?

Yang is said to be interesting several clubs throughout Europe, and it’s a topic that has the Celtic supporters split on the issue of whether we should hold onto the South Korean or move him with the plan of using the fee and his salary to much better use.

Yang hasn’t really had a consistent run of games since his arrival at the club two years ago, but has shown glimpses of his undoubted ability in his many appearances during that period. He has become something of a pet project for Brendan Rodgers in terms of player development and while there has been significant progress, he’s still not at the level where he can justifiably make a claim for a starting spot in the Celtic team.

Unfortunately for the South Korean international he hasn’t shown that form on a consistent basis, and when in matters, for instance in the Scottish cup final defeat Aberdeen being the most recent example.

There is no doubting that he has plenty of talent, but it’s quite clear he isn’t ready to be a first team regular anytime soon.

The best thing for both club and player would be a loan move in my opinion. You just need to look at the progress of Yang’s fellow countryman Oh Hyeon – gyu who has blossomed at Genk, so much so that he’s now attracting bids of £9 million from bigger clubs. maybe Genk would be interested in a loan deal for Yang – it would seem to make perfect sense for all parties?

Maybe Yang could also shine in a similar fashion if he were to have a temporary spell elsewhere. If so we would have a much improved player still on our books, and his value would also rise. Thoughts?
