Barcelona entertained Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a victory at home in La Liga. The Catalan club made a solid start to the game and grabbed the lead in the 40th minute when Lamine Yamal got his name on the scoresheet. Xavi’s men were leading 1-0 at the half-time break.

Barca sat on their lead well in the second half. The Catalan club finally managed to kill the game off in injury time thanks to Raphinha’s penalty. The match finished with Barcelona earning a solid 2-0 win in front of their home fans.

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

CM: Pedri – 7/10

Pedri came back to defend when needed and managed to engineer some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.

CM: Andreas Christensen – 6.5/10

He anchored the midfield well but offered very little in the final third.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 7/10

Gundogan caught the eye at times in the middle of the park and ended the game with an assist to his name.

RW: Lamine Yamal – 8/10

He was a constant menace in the final third and was responsible for scoring the opening goal in the 40th minute.

ST: Robert Lewandowski – 7/10

The Polish forward was a real handful for the opposition defenders but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

Raphinha caused a lot of problems for his marker and managed to score from the penalty spot in injury time.

His impact on the game was minimal.

He added some energy to Xavi’s midfield.
