It is of course now common knowledge that the Barcelona brass are in the process of sourcing fresh blood for the club’s bench with a view to next season.

As much comes owing to alleged anger sparked by Xavi courtesy of comments in a recent press conference.

Just weeks on from his continuity for 2024/25 being confirmed, the 44-year-old therefore finds himself in the dark once more.

As Deco and co. fly out for meetings with his potential successors, Xavi has seemingly been left completely out of the loop, those behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital showing a complete lack of respect for one of the most iconic figures in Barcelona’s storied history.

And yet, amidst all of the turmoil, the tactician himself is nevertheless ready to put the needs of the club before his own yet again.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, in the case of Xavi being dismissed over the coming weeks, it is understood that he would not request the wages to which he would be entitled for the final year of his contract.

This would come in a bid to ensure that Barca’s difficult financial situation is not made even worse.

Instead, the ex-midfielder would only fight for his staff to be compensated for their premature exits.
