Xavier Simons has turned his season long loan at Hull City into a permanent move, Chelsea have announced on their official website.
The midfielder has finally broken into their team, starting 4 of the Tigers’ last 5 league games as Liam Rosenior slowly integrates him.
Simons was a key figure throughout the youth category teams, and even got a game for the senior side last year in the EFL Cup.
The move was going to happen on deadline day in January, but much like Hakim Ziyech’s collapsed move to PSG, it took a back seat to the hectic action getting Enzo Fernandez signed.
Because Simons was already on loan there was less time pressure on this one however, and they have now settled on an agreement for summer move.
We’re not sure of the exact terms, but the consensus seems to be that it’s a very cheap (potentially free) move, with Chelsea collecting their profit on any resale of the midfielder.
