The goals for FC Barcelona when it comes to next season depend a lot on their own planning. Since La Blaugrana would ideally want to compete at the highest level, they need to reallocate and revamp their team accordingly. However, for Barcelona, that reconstruction can happen both externally and internally.

While signings from outside will be a welcome arrival, especially since Barcelona need more quality in the team, the club will also need to trust their own products. Many of La Masia and the quarry’s finest have proven themselves this season, and there will undoubtedly be more names hoping to do the same next season.

One of those names happens to be Marc Casado. Already a captain of Barcelona Atletic, he has been rising and improving gradually under the tutelage of Rafa Marquez. However, it would appear that Xavi Hernandez has different plans for him next season.

As highlighted by SPORT, the Barcelona head coach stated in his recent press conference that he plans on taking the Barcelona Atletic captain with him for more testing with the first team and then see him continue at the top of the Barça pyramid for the upcoming season:

“I have already said it many times… the idea with Marc Casado is that he continues with us (the Barcelona first team), and we want him to do the pre-season with us.”

Already a regular in terms of his presence and participation in first-team training sessions and call-ups, the homegrown pivot is a player with many expectations and a lot of promise. Moreover, he has proven himself to be a versatile player, able to play as a right-back as well.

With Xavi’s confidence in him now confirmed and guaranteed, it would seem only logical for the 20-year-old midfielder to have new hope instilled in himself. His great aspiration remains to be a regular in the Barcelona first team, and that dream could soon become a reality for him.
