Barcelona head coach Xavi will not be on the sidelines for the club’s next outing.

This comes owing to his behaviour during Barcelona’s meeting with Atlético Madrid on Sunday night.

The Blaugrana, of course, are currently locked in action, in a high-profile La Liga outing at the Wanda Metropolitano.

And, in the knowledge that an eventual victory would see them leapfrog Girona into 2nd in the table, the evening’s visitors currently find themselves en route to precisely that.

As much comes after Atlético loanee João Félix, almost inevitably, slotted home a fine finish late in the first-half in Spain’s capital.

As alluded to above, though, amid an otherwise positive outing for Barcelona to date, the Catalans have also been dealt a blow.

This comes after headmaster Xavi was dismissed from the touchline.

After first being booked whilst showcasing his frustration with the team of officials, the Spaniard refused to back down, culminating in a 2nd yellow card and ensuing red just minutes later.

Xavi, as a result, will be forced to sit out a one-game suspension, when Barca return to action in a meeting with Las Palmas on the far side of the international break.
