Xavi Simons rejects Bayern Munich to remain at RB Leipzig | OneFootball

According to Sky Germany, Xavi Simons has decided to remain at RB Leipzig for another season.

After a phenomenal first season in the Bundesliga, Simons had attracted the interest of a number of top European clubs. On the list of sides looking to secure the services of the Dutchman were Bayern Munich.

However, despite leading the race to sign the 21-year-old earlier in the transfer window, they have ultimately lost out to Die Roten Bullen.

Der Rekordmeister have been informed about Xavi’s decision, and they will now look to do all they can to lure Désiré Doué away from Stade Rennes.

As for Leipzig, Simons saw the opportunity to continue playing regularly in the Bundesliga, something that was not guaranteed at Bayern.

This has left the Saxony-based club and PSG looking to agree on the final details before a move is made official.

It is expected that Simons will sign another one-year loan with Leipzig, and a medical has already been scheduled for next week.
