Both Fabrizio Romano and Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) reports that Xavi Simons is leaning towards stay at RB Leipzig for another season, turning down Bayern Munich.

It is said Leipzig are confident that they will get the deal completed soon. It is said that Simons himself has already signalled to the bosses at Leipzig that he would like to stay. However, Bayern will not give up and will fight to try and change the situation until the very end.

Other signs do point towards Simons returning to the Red Bull Arena. For example, he had never left the Leipzig group chat despite him not being a part of the squad anymore. He is also in regular contact with his friends at the club including Loïs Openda and Benjamin Seško.

In his first season in the Bundesliga, Simons played a total of 43 times for Leipzig, scoring 10 and assisting 13 as they finished fourth, whilst also winning the DFL Super Cup right at the beginning of the season.

It is also said that Bayern will now turn their attention to Rennes’ Désiré Doué, who they have already made a big worth €55m which was rejected. However, they face competition from PSG for the 19-year-old’s signature.
