Xavi Hernandez has revealed which two players he would sign were he to become the new Barcelona boss.
The former Blaugrana midfielder was heavily linked with a return to Camp Nou following Ernesto Valverde’s sacking in January.
Xavi turned down the opportunity to coach there however, with Quique Setien taking control of the Liga leaders.
It hasn’t been all plain sailing for Setien though and reports are that the board in the Catalan capital are looking to replace him in time for the start of next season.
Over the past few days Xavi has briefed reporters in Spain that he would now be interested in becoming coach of his former side, and has now gone one further and detailed which players he would like to add to the squad.
“Barcelona lack wingers,” he told La Vanguardia.
“They wouldn’t need many new signings, but I would go for Serge Gnabry and Jadon Sancho.”
Both signings seem unlikely for Barça though, with Sancho likely costing around €150m while Gnabry is seen as almost indispensable at the Allianz Arena right now.
