Barcelona head coach Xavi has this evening revealed what he feels is the likelihood of the Blaugrana edging out Napoli to book their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Barca, and Napoli, of course locked horns a short time ago.

In a fascinating affair at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, it was the former who dominated proceedings, both from a possession and chance creation standpoint.

And yet, when all was said and done, the Blaugrana were forced to make do with a draw.

This came after Robert Lewandowski’s opener on the hour mark was cancelled out at the other end by Napoli star man Victor Osimhen.

Considerable work, as a result, remains to be done for Barcelona, when they welcome the reigning Italian champions to Catalunya in three weeks’ time.

And as much was reflected by the aforementioned Xavi, when speaking to the media post-match on Wednesday evening.

After watching his side surrender what would have proven an important advantage in Naples, Barca’s headmaster was asked for his take on the favourites to emerge triumphant from the 2nd leg, in the process booking a Champions League quarter-final berth.

And Xavi went on to reveal his take that the Blaugrana currently boast the upper hand… albeit just:

“I think that we’re slight favorites for the second leg: 51% to 49% odds.”
