The El Clasico tonight can very possibly be the last big game for Xavi Hernandez as the FC Barcelona head coach. The Catalans go into this match trailing their opponents, Real Madrid, by eight points, and with only seven games remaining in the league, it is crucial that they win this match if they want to remain in the race for La Liga.

Keeping in view the importance of this game, Xavi is expected to field his strongest eleven for this match. Thus, most of the players who took the field in the match against Paris Saint Germain are expected to once again start for the Catalans in this match.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, there is going to be one change in the midfield. Xavi will probably start Andreas Christensen, who was suspended for the PSG match, as the defensive pivot.

For this purpose, one of Frenkie de Jong or Pedri will have to be sacrificed, with the latter being the more likely to be dropped from the starting eleven.

The Canary Islander returned to action a few days ago after having recovered from yet another injury. However, he is still far from being fully fit, and thus has high chances of starting El Clasico on the bench.
