Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso will not see his request for the club to further reinforce his squad before the summer is out answered.
That’s according to The Athletic, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.
Real Madrid have of course been active on the transfer front across the summer to date. This comes with the Santiago Bernabéu brass having sanctioned deals for all of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Franco Mastantuono, and Álvaro Carreras.
Of the opinion that more is required, though, is the aforementioned Xabi Alonso.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Alonso feels there is still room for improvement. One source suggests Alonso and his staff would like two signings, possibly one to replace Rodrygo in case the Brazilian leaves.’
Unfortunately for the club’s new headmaster, however, it is also noted that the Real Madrid board at present have no intention of dipping back into the market.
‘Club sources insist the squad is closed to any more arrivals and that Alonso will have to adapt to what is available,’ it is concluded.
