According to Fichajes, it has come to light that Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has identified Alexis Mac Allister as his top target to strengthen the team’s midfield.
The Argentine star, who recently enjoyed a standout season with Premier League champions Liverpool, is seen as the ideal piece to give Madrid’s midfield a major upgrade heading into the 2025/26 season.
Alonso believes Mac Allister’s tactical intelligence, composure on the ball, and ability to contribute both defensively and offensively make him the perfect fit alongside the likes of Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Federico Valverde.
He views the 26-year-old as a natural organiser and wants him to be the heart of his midfield project at the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to the aforementioned outlet, the club is already laying the groundwork for a formal move.

Reports claim Real Madrid are preparing an initial offer of around €100 million for Mac Allister. However, that figure could ‘expand’ if they manage to secure player exits, particularly those involving Dani Ceballos or Brahim Diaz.
That said, the signing will largely depend on the sale of a big name, with Rodrygo being one of the key players who could be moved to make space and balance the finances.
Without a major sale, Real Madrid know the transfer will be difficult to pull off in the current window.
Still, the Spanish giants are optimistic. They believe Mac Allister could be attracted by the chance to lead a new era at Real Madrid under Alonso’s guidance.
The club is also hoping the midfielder will be open to pushing for the move from his side, adding pressure on Liverpool to negotiate.
As it stands, the operation is in motion, and Alonso’s desire is clear that he wants Alexis Mac Allister as the midfield engine of his new-look Real Madrid.
