Phil Foden looked to have ended Arsenal's slim hopes of winning the Premier League title after an early brace against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, but Mohammed Kudus' strike has set up a dramatic finish in the title race.

Foden took just 78 seconds to break the hearts of Arsenal supporters, scoring an absolute stunner from the edge of the area to punish a West Ham side with nothing left to play for.

City made it 2-0 through the excellent Foden halfway through the first half and just to make matters worse for the Gunners, they fell behind just before half-time at home to Everton. Fortunately for Arsenal, they found an equaliser just four minutes later through Takehiro Tomiyasu.

That equaliser looked even more important moments later, with Kudus pulling a goal back at the Etihad and offering Arsenal fans the ability to dream once again.

Here is how social media reacted to a wild first 45 minutes.

City were in pole position to secure yet another Premier League crown and simply needed to beat West Ham on Sunday afternoon to win the trophy.

However, there were plenty of nerves to be handed out, with Arsenal still capable of being crowned champions if they beat Everton and Pep Guardiola's side slipped up.

But any nerves among City supporters were swiftly extinguished by the Premier League Player of the Season Foden, who gave Pep Guardiola's side the lead after just two minutes at the Etihad.

The dazzling 23-year-old received Bernardo Silva's pass on the edge of the area and rifled home a wonderful effort to put a firm Man City hand on the title.

For some Arsenal fans, it was game over already.

If Foden's first wasn't devastating enough for Arsenal supporters, his second killed off any hope of Premier League glory in north London.

Another excellent finish from the Englishman doubled Man City's lead and once again highlighted just why he has been voted the Premier League's best this term.

Arsenal were hardly inspiring confidence at the Emirates themselves but managed to cancel out an Idrissa Gueye goal just before the break through Tomiyasu's effort.

However, things suddenly got a little better for Arsenal fans, with Kudus pulling a goal back for West Ham just minutes before half-time at the Etihad.

The Ghanaian produced an immense overhead kick to reduce Man City's deficit...and offer a glimmer of hope to those in the capital.
