Birmingham City v Tottenham

Scorers: Neville 66′, Percival 85′

Tottenham leapfrog Manchester United following a hard-fought win over Birmingham City.

Despite being at the bottom of the table, the hosts were able to give the visitors a run for their money.

While Tottenham maintained control of the game at St. Andrew’s they struggled to break Birmingham down and had difficulties putting shots on target.

As such, things stood 0-0 at the break and the match could have went either way.

However, Spurs were able to ramp up the pressure coming into the second half and eventually broke through thanks to Ashleigh Neville.

Deep into the match, Ria Percival made things 2-0 to secure all three points for the visitors.

The result means Tottenham now move above Manchester United into third, just four points off leaders Arsenal.

Brighton v Reading

Scorers: Green 20′, 52′, 61′, Koivisto 68′; Eikeland 88′

Brighton return to to winning ways thanks to an inspired Kayleigh Green.

The hosts were firing on all cylinders as they looked to earn their first win since November and the dominance on the pitch paid off.

Brighton held more possession of the ball and outshot Reading 21 to seven.

A hat-trick from an inspired Kayleigh Green and another goal from Emma Koivisto put them in the driver’s seat.

The visitors, who see their unbeaten run snapped, were able to pull back a goal through Amalie Eikeland late on but the damage was already done.

The result means Brighton are eighth while Reading stay sixth.

Leicester v West Ham

Scorers: Flint 2′, Plumptre 9′, Gregory 50′

Leicester earn three big points after an upset win over West Ham.

Things got off to a flying start for Leicester as they hosted West Ham at Pirelli Stadium.

With just the first shot on the game, the Foxes took an early lead over the visitors through Natasha Flint and only a few minutes later Ashleigh Plumptre was able to make things 2-0.

Unfortunately for West Ham, Leicester’s dominance continued in the second half and Freya Gregory added a third five minutes after the restart.

The three-goal cushion was too much for the visitors and they couldn’t find their scoring touch to pull off a comeback.

The result means Leicester move further away from the drop and into tenth while West Ham stay seventh.

Everton v Aston Villa

Scorers: Gielnik 17′, Petzelberger 24′

Everton’s woes continue following their loss to Aston Villa at home.

Side-by-side near the bottom of the table, three big points were up for grabs as Everton hosted Aston Villa.

And while the Toffees took control of the game and tested their opponents early on, it was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play.

Emily Gielnik finished off a cross from Jill Scott before Ramona Petzelberger made things 2-0 a few minutes later.

And despite Everton continuing to maintain more possession and have double the amount of shots, they couldn’t pull off a comeback.

To make matters worse, Izzy Christiansen and Kenza Dali were forced off with injuries.

The result means Everton drops even further down the table just one spot above relegation while Villa move up to ninth.

Man City v Man Utd

Scorers: Weir 81′

Manchester City pick up three big points against rivals Manchester United following some late heroics from Caroline Weir.

It was an intense atmosphere right from kick-off and the hosts took control of the game in the first half, developing into the more threatening side.

As such, City had numerous chances to break the deadlock. Lauren Hemp and Ellen White led the way but their chances fall short.

The visitors struggled to break the hosts down (holding just 30 percent possession in the first half) but started to wake up towards half-time. Ella Toone and Signe Bruun, in particular, were lively.

Things calmed down a bit in the second half but both sides still saw chances fall inches away from breaking the deadlock. An effort from Jess Park hit the woodwork before Toone forced a big save from Ellie Roebuck at the other end.

With things sitting 0-0, it looked like some late heroics would be needed to decide the match and Caroline Weir stepped up to the task.

The midfielder came off the bench late on to score a stunning chip against the rivals yet again.

The result means City move up to fifth and are back in the race for a Champions League spot while United drop to fourth following Tottenham’s win.
