Reiten runs riot as Chelsea hit eight

Scorers: Reiten 6’, Fleming 14’, 50′, Kirby 39’, 82′, Charles 41’, Kerr 45’, England 75′.

Chelsea remain top of the Super League after stunning thrashing of Leicester at the King Power stadium.

Guro Reiten was in sensational form in the first half, scoring one and assisting four as Emma Hayes went in at the break 5-0 up.

Reiten’s stroked finish from the edge of the box opened the floodgates before she pulled the ball back for Jessie Fleming to slot home from six yardss.

Fran Kirby and Niamh Charles then got in on the act before Sam Kerr tapped in to round off a perfect first 45 minutes.

Chelsea picked up where they left off in the second with Fleming sealing her brace before Beth England powered a header past the hapless Demi Lambourne.

Kirby rounded off the drubbing in the dying minutes from close range to keep up the league leader’s run of 10 consecutive away wins in the Super League.

Miedema inspires Arsenal to get back to winning ways

Scorers: Miedema 23′.

Arsenal returned to winning ways thanks to a piece of brilliance from Vivianne Miedema on her return to the side.

The Dutch striker scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute, striding forward with the ball on the left-hand side before waltzing past two Everton defenders and curling the ball into the top corner.

She then set up Stina Blackstenius to be denied by Emily Ramsey who then had to keep out another Miedema shot as the Gunners peppered the Toffees goal in the first half.

But despite Arsenal’s dominance that would prove to be the only goal of the game, enough to shake off the defeat to Manchester United last-time out and keep three points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Man Utd go top as Villa crumble

Scorers: Zelem 13′, Galton 28′, Russo 51′, Batlle 76′, Williams 90+3′.

Aston Villa were handed a lesson in front of a packed Old Trafford crowd as Manchester United won 5-0.

Manchester United knew they would return to the top of the Women’s Super League with a win.

They would do so with Lioness Alessia Russo starting in attack but it was captain Katie Zelem who gave United the lead on 13 minutes.

Things got even better for Mark Skinner’s side soon after as Leah Galton doubled the home side’s lead.

Into the second half and Russo did eventually get her name on the scoresheet as she netted her fourth of the campaign after after the restart.

It was turning into a marquee afternoon for the Red Devils and it became a rout with 15 minutes to go as One Batlle scored before Rachel Williams added a fifth.
