Lucy Staniforth has replaced Jess Park on standby for England’s squad for the Women’s World Cup.

Park has returned to Manchester City due to a shoulder injury suffered late last season. The 21-year-old was with the England squad on standby but will now definitely not take part in this summer’s tournament.

Instead, Aston Villa midfielder Staniforth joins Maya Le Tissier, who is also with the squad on standby.

The pair will remain with the rest of the England squad until the Lionesses’ World Cup opener against Haiti on 22 July. After that point, no changes to the squad will be allowed.
