It was a brilliant day in the FA Womenâs Super League with blockbuster games at every turn.
Hereâs what happened.
Scorer: Shaw 50âČ
A little bit of luck needed to be on Manchester Cityâs side as the team picked up a 1-0 win over West Ham.
The visitors dominated the match across 90 minutes, but a formidable host side was difficult to break down.
That was until an alert Khadija âBunnyâ Shaw broke the deadlock minutes after the restart by rounding goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold to bag her ninth WSL goal of the season.
As time went on, City continued their dominance registering 24 shots on target alongside 70% possession but couldnât add a second.
The likes of Viviane Asseyi, Lisa Evans and others, meanwhile, failed to find an equaliser for West Ham.
The result means City are fourth, three points behind Arsenal and Manchester United, then six off of Chelsea, while West Ham are fifth.
Scorers: Whelan 45âČ, Tierney 48âČ, Robinsonâ 69âČ
Leicester picked up their first win of the season after a 3-0 victory over Brighton.
Itâs tight at the bottom of the table in the WSL, with these two clubs battling to avoid relegation, but a determined performance from the hosts was the difference.
The Foxes had less possession of the ball and fewer attempts, but Aileen Whelan broke Brightonâs defence by finishing off a team move just before half-time.
Then coming out afterward, Leicester capitalised on their momentum while Brightonâs Lee Geum-min, Veatriki Sarri and others struggled to find an equaliser.
Instead, sloppy defending from the Seagulls allowed Sam Tierney to double the lead before Monique Robinson added a third from range.
Looking at the table, Leicester remain at the bottom but finally have three points and Brighton are immediately above with seven but have games in hand.
Scorers: GarcĂa 6âČ, Russo 24âČ, Ladd 41âČ, Koivisto 63âČ (OG), Thomas 72âČ, Williams 84âČ
It was one-way traffic at Leigh Sports Village as Manchester United dominated newly promoted Liverpool 6-0.
The hosts hit the ground running, with Ona Batlle and Ella Toone pulling the strings to cause headaches for the visitors.
LucĂa GarcĂa opened the scoring within six minutes before Euro 2022 stars Toone and Alessia Russo combined for 2-0, and Hayley Laddâs header added a third.
Coming out after the break, Liverpool had an even bigger mountain to climb, but Shanice van de Sanden, Yana Daniëls and the like struggled to make an impact.
Eventually, an own-goal from Emma Koivisto added a fourth before substitutes Martha Thomas and Rachel Williams wrapped up a statement win for the hosts.
Itâs a sure sign that second-place Manchester United are continuing their upward trajectory, and the WSL has another lethal club in the mix. They are three behind Chelsea with a game in hand, tied with Arsenal and three above Manchester City.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will look to bounce back from this loss and build on their ninth-place spot in the table.
Scorers: Snoeijs 9âČ, Park 32âČ, George 61âČ; Vanhaevermaet 60âČ, Cooper 68âČ
Everton managed to hang on to three vital points after a 3-2 win over Reading. It was a fairly balanced game at Walton Park, but brilliant strikes decided this one.
Katja Snoeijs redirected a cross home within 10 minutes before star Jess Park doubled the lead by the hour mark with an impressive solo run.
However, a flurry of goals in the second half created a tense atmosphere, with three goals in eight minutes between the two sides.
Reading ramped up the pressure and Justine Vanhaevermaet pulled one back but Gabrielle George answered with a long-range strike seconds later for Everton.
Belter. âÂ
The visitors were not down and out just yet, though, as Deanna Cooperâs header turned things 3-2.
In the end, Readingâs late push wasnât enough seeing the Toffees hold on. Everton sit fifth in the table and Reading are 10th.
Scorers: Little (PEN) 57âČ; Kerr 89âČ
A second half Kim Little penalty looked to be enough to see Arsenal beat Chelsea but Sam Kerr netted in the final minute to earn a share of the spoils.
Despite a lack of goals it was an entertaining first half as Arsenal went close with two efforts whilst Chelsea dominated possession.
There was a lack of quality in the final third though and the deadlock remained at the break.
In the second half the home side eventually got their opening goal as Kim Little netted from the penalty spot.
But Chelsea showed their class late on as Sam Kerr headed in from close range to see the Blues escape with a point.
The result means Chelsea are top of the table three points above Manchester United and Arsenal (tied).
