WSL: Dominant Arsenal thrash Liverpool; Everton see off Crystal Palace | OneFootball

There were two WSL fixtures to enjoy today, before the other eight clubs face off on Sunday.

Arsenal put four past Liverpool in a dominant performance at the Emirates.

It was all Arsenal from the very spot, as Liverpool hardly got a touch of the ball in the opening 45 minutes.

The Gunners were all but home and hosed heading into the break thanks to goals from Caitlin Foord, a Jasmine Matthews own-goal, and a late strike from Mariona Caldentey.

To make matters worse for the visitors from Merseyside, Jasmine Matthews conceded a second own-goal past the hour mark, a feat rarely seen at any level of football.

The dominant victory sees Arsenal keep the gap behind Chelsea at eight points.

Clinical Everton see off Crystal Palace

Scorers: Vanhaevermaet 43', Holmgaard 46'

Everton struck either side of half time and with almost the last kick of the game to register a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

It seemed like the two sides would go in at the break with the scores goalless, but just before the whistle blew, Justine Vanhaevermaet rose highest to put the Toffees ahead.

As the teams came out for the second half, Everton doubled their advantage, this time Sara Holmgaard heading home following a superb passage of attacking play.

The win was well and truly sealed when Kelly Gago added Everton's third deep into second half stoppage time.

The win moves the Toffees up to seventh place in the table, while Palace remain rock bottom of the league.

Sunday's action sees Chelsea travel to Manchester City once again after Sonia Bompastor's side were defeated for the first time this season by the same opponent in midweek Champions League action, as well as a trip to Tottenham for West Ham and Man Utd travelling to Aston Villa.
