There was drama at the top and the bottom in the WSL this weekend. Here are our awards …

The 50-50 Award

Arsenal saw two players – Beth Mead and Jordan Nobbs — make it to 50 WSL goals in Sunday’s win over Everton.

Will Nikita Parris, on 45 right now, be the next to join them?

The Award for Least Selfish Player

And Mead had even more to celebrate, as teeing up Nobbs saw her become the player with the most assists in WSL history, usurping legendary midfielder Karen Carney.

The Championship Form Award

Arsenal’s win didn’t move them any closer to pipping Chelsea to the title, though.

The Blues went behind and then went down to 10 players after equalising before (who else?) Sam Kerr and Jessie Fleming scored late on to sink Spurs and keep Emma Hayes’ side in top spot.

The Driving Seat Award

Momentum may not have changed hands in the title race but it certainly did in the race for the third and final Champions League spot. A dominant Manchester City win over Leicester was followed by a Manchester United draw against Aston Villa.

City are now just a point off third with a game in hand and superior goal difference.

The Alive and Kicking Award

Birmingham had just four points and were eight from safety before their last two games. Then they drew with Everton before beating Brighton at the weekend.

Four more points from their remaining three matches could see them catch Leicester City. Is the great escape on?
