Scott McTominay in high spirits as Manchester United prepare to face Liverpool

According to the club’s official site, Manchester United star Scott McTominay believes the team is in high spirits ahead of their clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford this weekend.

The Scottish international is one of the key players at the Theatre of Dreams. He featured midweek as the Red Devils came back from two goals down to beat Italian side, Atalanta.

McTominay goes on to admit that the manner of the win has been excellent for team spirit. That is often the case when one experiences such a comeback

“It was so important in terms of the way we did win it, it was big for the team spirit and the dynamic of the group.”

One game however does not make a season and McTominay is keen for the club to continue their good form. A win against Liverpool on Sunday will clearly go on to improve morale even further.

“We have to make sure that, in every game, the mentality is the same.”

McTominay revealed that he believes the perception is to see United as the underdogs. The team is often written off but they somehow find a way to twist the narrative in their favour.

“We’re underdogs now and, in every game, people can write us off.”

MvTominay could have to face Liverpool this weekend without his usual midfield partner, Fred. The Brazilian was taken off midweek with a hamstring injury and is a doubt for the game.

Whatever be the case, United cannot afford to take it easy against Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s side thrashed us 4-2 at some last season and it is about time we paid them back.
