Shock, euphoria, agony – Ryan Reynolds experienced all the emotions that the FA Cup has to offer at The Racecourse Ground on Sunday.

Wrexham were 3-2 up with just seconds to play, before a last-gasp equaliser from John Egan rescued a replay for the Championship side.

With TV cameras capturing the range of facial expressions that Reynolds showed throughout the game, his wife Blake Lively watched on at home and couldn’t help but poke fun at her husband.

What did Blake Lively say about Ryan Reynolds?

Lively is also a fellow actor and met Reynolds while filming Green Lantern in 2010. The pair married in 2012 and Lively is currently pregnant with their fourth child.

Taking to Instagram, Lively shared a video of Reynolds on ESPN+’s telecast of the match and wrote: “I bought ESPN+ today. Just to watch my husband experience crippling anxiety live. Worth it.”

She added:  “If you’re not watching this insane @wrexham_afc game right now you’re missing out on these vibes, They’re playing a team three leagues higher. And currently winning. Life makes no sense.”

Fans react to Lively’s Instagram story

As you’d expect, fans found Lively’s comical post hilarious and were quick to react.

“Couple goals,” stressed another.

“They were sooo made for each other,” added a third.

Wrexham denied by last-minute leveller

It was so nearly a historic day for Reynolds and Wrexham.

Up against a side three divisions above them, they were clear underdogs ahead of the tie but were ultimately left feeling like they’d been robbed.

Wrexham had fallen behind to a goal from Oli McBurnie, yet fought back to lead 2-1. Oliver Norwood then equalised, before Paul Mullin put the home side back in front.

Egan’s stoppage-time equaliser earned a replay for the Blades, however, Reynolds stressed that he was “moved” by his side’s performance.

”Ryan came into the dressing room and he was so proud of what he had seen,” said Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson.

“He was moved by the kind of performance today and he said some great words to the lads.

“They will remember them for a long time.”
