The striker has been out of action since October with a broken leg.
Wrexham manager, Phil Parkinson, has revealed that Jack Marriott is recovering well from his injury, and could be back ahead of schedule.
The former Derby County striker has been out of action since October after suffering a broken leg in training, just days before the Red Dragons ran out 1-0 winners against Rotherham United, and was not expected to be back for another four months.
However, he has been recovering well and could be back sooner than first thought, according to his manager, something that can only be seen as a positive for Wrexham. The League One side have had a bit of an injury crisis over the last couple of months, and the return of the 30-year-old will come at a perfect time, with the Welsh club looking to continue their excellent run of form.
Goals from forwards have not come as frequently as Parkinson would have liked in 2024/25, with Paul Mullin struggling to find the back of the net consistently, as well as Ollie Palmer.
Marriott scored five times in his first 10 appearances before he suffered his injury, and him coming back into the fold could help ease any worries over the number of goals being scored.
While there will be excitement surrounding this news, the Wrexham manager has not issued a specific date for his return, but has said that it will be earlier than first expected.
The Red Dragons make the journey to face Bristol Rovers on Saturday, and Parkinson explained more about his striker's recovery: "Jack has progressed really well.
"We are looking at Jack being ahead of schedule and we are looking forward to getting him back and seeing him running on the training ground.
"Let's not put a timescale on it but he's ahead of schedule which is great news."
Parkinson continued: "He had a very positive appointment with the specialist and he was really pleased with how everything had healed and knitted together.
"Jack is obviously determined to get back and get involved as soon as he can."
It's been a bizarre season for Wrexham's strikers, and they have struggled for consistency in front of goal in League One.
Mullin has found the back of the net only once in 18 appearances, while Palmer has scored just three times in 20 games. Elliot Lee and Max Cleworth have helped provide goals from midfield and defence, with the former scoring five, while the Red Dragons' 22-year-old centre-back has four to his name.
Marriott will ease a lot of pressure that is on those two to provide goals, and he could also save his team plenty of money in the January transfer window, as it seemed a necessity for Wrexham to bring in another striker.
Bringing the 30-year-old back into the team gently is important, but there will be plenty of excitement about this update, and it will only help in Parkinson's push for promotion.
