The Red Dragons made history this season by recording a third consecutive promotion, as they continue their remarkable rise under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The Hollywood duo ultimately plan to take Wrexham to the Premier League, but reaching the second tier of English football is a fantastic achievement, and a big summer window awaits as they look to back the manager once again.

And, it appears one player on their radar is Ibrahim, with the 22-year-old expected to leave CF Montreal in the coming months.

That’s according to Give Me Sport, who revealed that Wrexham are ‘leading the race’ for the signature of the attacker, ahead of a host of other clubs.

The update adds that a fee of up to $500,000 will be required to complete the deal for the Nigerian, who has failed to nail down a starting XI spot with the MLS outfit, even if his goal-to-minute ratio was impressive last season.

Wrexham AFC must have a productive transfer window

It remains to be seen what sort of backing Parkinson receives in the window, although there are suggestions serious funds will be put into the club once again.

But, no matter what the number is, it’s clear that they must invest wisely to strengthen the group as this is a massive step up from League One.

Bringing in attacking reinforcements will be a priority, as Steven Fletcher has departed, and with the likes of Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin struggling to make the squad last season, it’s an area they are likely to address.

Obviously, it’s hard to judge Ibrahim, as he is a young player who is still developing, but the recruitment team at Wrexham clearly like something about him.

Given the rumoured fee, this would be a low-risk move for the Welsh side that could pay off, as he has some attributes the manager will want, and he is at an age where he can continue to develop.
