‘Worst signing in history?’: Reaction to pathetic summer signing’s turnout

It was an awful couple hours of viewing. After going one down to a cheap free kick, a brilliant finish from Moi the Bhoy and an offside fluke by Nir Bitton set Celtic on their way to what they thought was their first win of 2021. It wasn’t to be, after washed up journeyman Jay Emmanuel-Thomas drew Livi level, to leave the Celts deflated.

One person in particular drew strong, strong critics from Celtic fans online – and it wasn’t without controversy, as he portrayed perhaps his worst performance in a Celtic shirt yet.

Vasilis Barkas was chosen between the sticks yet again in the West Lothian blizzards, but did absolutely nothing to adhere himself to his supporters as they covered their eyes in horror at the performance they drudgingly watched on their screens.

The £5 million summer signing from AEK Athens was useless once again for Neil Lennon’s side; he failed to command the box for the opener, and after being let off the hook by his team-mates as Celtic took a 2-1 lead, his failure to deal with Jay Emmanuel-Thomas’ goal meant that Celtic dropped yet MORE points.

Fans’ took to Twitter to vent their frustrations to Craig Gordon’s failing successor, with some claiming he is the worst signing in Celtic’s recent history.

The Greek will need to turn his form around quickly, otherwise he will be sent swiftly to the exit at Lennoxtown – most probably alongside many, many other players who at the moment are not fit to wear the shirt.
