Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay were both reportedly struggling with their respective movements as they left Wembley, following Manchester United’s lucky FA Cup semi-final win against Coventry City.

United surrendered their superior three-goal lead as Coventry fought back to force the game into extra time.

Mark Robins’ side came close to winning it on a few occasions – they hit the crossbar and saw a winning goal in the 121st minute ruled out by a VAR call due to an extremely tight offside decision.

Both teams had to settle for a penalty shootout and luckily, Erik ten Hag’s men demonstrated a much stronger mentality when they stepped up to the spot despite Casemiro not starting things off well.

United are now through to the FA Cup final, where they will face Manchester City later in May for the privilege of lifting the domestic cup.

Despite the woeful overall performance and the embarrassing capitulation fans were subjected to by the team, the other major worry was Rashford and McTominay’s injury concerns.

Both players were named in the starting XI by Ten Hag but didn’t make it until the final whistle. Rashford, who was very poor, was taken off in the 97th minute and replaced by Amad Diallo. The Ivorian winger saw played in extra time.

McTominay featured for 103 minutes before he was also forced off with what seemed like an injury. Carrington academy graduate Omari Forson came on in the Scotland international’s place.

Like McTominay, Rashford appeared uncomfortable while making his way to the touchline.

According to Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, McTominay was “walking gingerly” through the mixed zone.

United correspondent for The Daily Mail, Nathan Salt, also gave an update on Rashford and indicated that the Englishman limped his way through the mixed zone.

Salt also posted a video of Rashford on X (formerly Twitter), in which the 26-year-old was struggling to walk freely.

Hopefully for United and Ten Hag, it’s nothing serious and both Rashford and McTominay will be available for the club’s clash against Sheffield United later this week on Wednesday.

Should they be sidelined, the duo will join an extensive injury list that currently consists of players like Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
