Jerome Boateng: Bayern Munich should sign Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane this summer

Jerome Boateng has suggested that Bayern Munich should do their best to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane this summer. The striker has finally returned to his best self in the past few months with the help of his current manager Antonio Conte.

Bayern Munchen is currently concerned about the centre-forward position with their superstar Robert Lewandowski pressing to join Barcelona at the end of this season. Losing a man of his quality would be a massive blow indeed, and replacing him would not be an easy task at all. However, their former player Boateng has given his advice on the ideal target for them this summer.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg on Twitter), Boateng has conveyed that Bayern should look to target Kane to replace Lewandowski. The former pointed out how “complete” the England skipper is and how he has performed at a world-class level even with the struggles Tottenham have undergone over the years.

“Many strikers have impressed me and at the moment they have the best with Lewy. Benzema can also be mentioned after this season. Personally, I would immediately try to get Harry Kane at FC Bayern. For me, Kane is a complete striker who scores his goals every day at Tottenham. In a very good but not a world-class team. If he plays in a team like FC Bayern, I think that’s a super replacement at a very good football age. But that’s up to FC Bayern.”

Good luck getting Kane

Kane looks like a completely different player compared to how he was at the beginning of this season. Conte has helped the striker get back to his best, which has seen the forward score 19 goals and grab eight assists from 35 matches across all competitions. He is a crucial player for the boss, and it is quite normal to think that the coach would want to keep hold of his star man.

The Bundesliga side is one of the European powerhouses and are contenders to win the Champions League every season. However, the fans would be confident that Spurs can keep hold of the 29-year-old due to Conte’s presence and the prospect of remaining in the Premier League.

Moreover, Kane himself recently issued a strong hint that he is looking forward to staying at N17 under Conte in the next campaign. Hence, the fans are more optimistic about seeing their superstar remain committed to their new project moving forward.

What’s more, we are currently the favourites to finish in the top four places of the PL table after Arsenal recently lost to Newcastle United. If we can ensure CL qualification by at least drawing against Norwich City in the final game of the season, the club can at least provide Champions League football to Kane next season.

Hence, even if the German side officially registers their interest in the England international, one would think that Fabio Paratici would ward off their advances, especially when they are looking to back their man in charge.

The board must look to strengthen Conte’s side rather than weaken it, and keeping Kane is a big aspect when it comes to that. Then again, we first have to wait and see whether Bayern would pay heed to the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner’s words in the first place.
