Pre-tournament favourites Brazil lit up the 2022 World Cup on Monday evening.
The South American nation were simply too good for South Korea in their last-16 encounter, winning by a scoreline of 4-1.
Vinicius Junior, Neymar, Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta were the scorers in what was an epic first half display.
Paik Seung-ho scored a stunner for South Korea in the 76th minute, but the damage had well and truly been done.
Brazil will now play Croatia in the quarter-finals, which has all the ingredients necessary for a World Cup classic.
But while the footballing world was drooling over the Selecao’s magnificence at Stadium 974, Roy Keane was not impressed with everything they did out on the pitch.
No, his criticism had nothing to do with their elegant and destructive attacking play. Instead, it was focused on Brazil’s goal celebrations.
After all four first half strikes, Tite’s side celebrated rather exuberantly – and even the manager himself got involved for Richarlison’s goal.
But were the dance moves really necessary every single time? Not in the eyes of Keane, who was working as a pundit for ITV.
The Manchester United legend branded Brazil as “disrespectful” for continuing their routines after Vinicius’ stylish opener.
Check out what Keane had to say below…
Keane said: “I can’t believe what I’m watching. I’ve never seen so much dance. It’s like watching Strictly.
“I think it’s disrespectful dancing like that every time they score. I don’t mind the first jig, or whatever it was, for the first goal, but not every time.
“It’s disrespectful. Even their manager gets involved. I don’t like it.”
Agree with Keane on the subject? Some will, some won’t.
One man who was not convinced by Keane’s tirade in the ITV studio was Ally McCoist, who was part of the broadcaster’s commentary team for the match.
McCoist said: “I can see Roy’s points but I don’t have a problem with it honestly, particularly when it’s the brilliant Brazilians.
“Maybe it’s wrong to say that only they should be doing it, that’s not the case, I just think the way they’ve performed it just kind of goes hand in hand with their football.
“So, I don’t think there’s anything too wrong with it.”
