Cristiano Ronaldo’s side must go the long route if they are to qualify for the World Cup which takes place next year in Qatar as only three teams will make it through from the 12 European countries remaining.

Portugal will face Turkey in the semi-finals of the play-offs, before potentially facing Euro 2020 champions Italy in the final, with only one of the two nations able to squeeze through this qualification process.
