One former manager has been full of praise of a new Chelsea signing recently and refers to him as his son in some big compliments.

Things are super busy once again at Chelsea right now with the first of two summer transfer windows closing tomorrow night. The window will then open again on June the 16th and this is all so clubs can register news signings for the Club World Cup this month.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea make contact to sign Premier League and England star this summer!!

And Chelsea have done just that as well, with the announcement of centre back Mamadou Sarr joining from Strasbourg on Monday morning – he will now head out to the CWC to play for Chelsea.

The big situation right now is Mike Maignan of AC Milan, with Chelsea wanting to sign him as well. But this one is chipping on as The Blues quibble about his valuation which let’s be honest, is already very low. The player wants Chelsea though and is determined to join apparently.

Back to Sarr though….

Having just confirmed the new arrival, Chelsea have put a big read out on him on their website detailing all you need to know on the new defender at Stamford Bridge.

One interesting thing that caught my eye is that Mamadou’s father is Pape Sarr, a former midfielder who made more than 50 appearances for Senegal and was part of the squad which reached the 2002 World Cup quarter-finals and won the Africa Cup of Nations in the same year.

Rosenior on Sarr

Rosenior, who is currently head coach at Strasbourg and managed Sarr there, was quoted earlier this season as saying: ‘I could talk about him for hours. His nickname is Mamadou Rosenior, he’s my son.

‘It’s scary to show such performances at 19 with such calm in the face of such strong teams. He just has to stay humble and calm and he will be a top player for sure.’

In an interview with The Athletic, Rosenior added: ‘His temperament, his athleticism, his ability on the ball… he’s got everything you need to be a world-class centre-half.’
