Chelsea are working towards an agreement worth €65m with Borussia Dortmund for winger Jamie Gittens according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The Blues advanced to the last 16 of the Club World Cup with a 3-0 win against ES Tunis, with goals from Liam Delap, Tosin Adarabioyo and Tyrqiue George.
The Win sets up a last sixteen clash against Portuguese giants Benfica on Saturday evening, who surprisingly beat Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
Chelsea’s main priority was a striker and having signed Liam Delap for £30m from Ipswich attention now turns to bringing in a left winger.
The Blues have identified Gittens as their priority target and had a bid worth £42m rejected before the Club World Cup.
Gittens has agreed terms on a seven year deal at Stamford Bridge, although Bayern Munich are now showing interest in the 20-year-old.

The England under-21 international reportedly only wants Chelsea, and it’s been reported a deal for Gittens could be done imminently, and Plettenberg has now provided an update on the situation.
He took to X.com and said:
“Chelsea are currently making the most effort to sign Jamie #Gittens.
“New talks with Dortmund have taken place. The clubs are working towards an agreement worth €65m. Verbal agreement until 2032 is still done #CFC.
“Max Eberl still has Gittens high on his list, but Bayern have only discussed him internally again and with his agents (the same contact as for Bradley Barcola).

“There have been no negotiations/meetings with Dortmund so far. It’s now up to Chelsea to submit a suitable offer. One decision is certain: Gittens will leave BVB!”
Gittens scored 12 goals last season for Dortmund, including four in the Champions League and is currently part of their squad at the Club World Cup.
As well as a winger Chelsea are looking to bring in a versatile forward and have been linked with Mohammed Kudus and Joao Pedro.
Chelsea are said to admire Pedro, who can cover multiple positions in attack, but face competition from Newcastle, with Brighton said to want around £60m for the Brazil international.
Kudus is likely to leave West Ham this summer, and is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs, with it thought the Hammers are prepared to let him leave for less than his £85m release clause.
