Chelsea now have a golden opportunity to sign one of the best young wingers in the game after the latest exclusive report last night.

As I exclusively reported on my Substack site recently, Chelsea are looking at PSG winger Xavi Simons this summer as they look at potential new wingers to bring in.

EXCLUSIVE! Strong chance Pochettino now stays, Benjamin Sesko could arrive at CFC this summer, Victor Osimhen swap-deal unlikely, Tosin Adarabioyo contract demands, Much more…

Further to this, others since confirmed Chelsea’s interest in Simons, and now there has been another very interesting exclusive report that may well trigger Chelsea into action on this target.

Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport in France is reporting that Simons won’t come back from his loan move to Paris this summer. Negotiations are now ongoing between PSG and RB Leipzig for a permanent move.  He also says that Premier League clubs are also interested in Simons, and as above, one of them is Chelsea.

So this is certainly an opportunity being presented for Chelsea now, and one that I believe they should be all over if there is a chance to land Simons at a reasonable fee. Whether there is or not is another matter, but there could be a chance here now.

Simons is 21-years-old and has 13 international caps with Netherlands. He has a contract until 2027, so I suspect any fee to sign him would be quite large.

Simons can also play anywhere across the attacking midfield positions, on the left, centre, or on the right. His versatility and quality would really help Chelsea elevate some more and I believe these are the kind of talents, if he can be gotten for a reasonable fee, is what Chelsea need right now to push on. We need to upgrade in the wing areas in this squad because players like Raheem Sterling are no longer good enough if we really want to push back towards the very top and challenge again.
