Among Women’s Regional League Cups getting underway was a penalties win for Dronfield Town,  following a fightback from 3-1 down.

EASTERN – Luton’s Kenilworth Road game postponed at last minute

Premier – Stevenage and Haringey Borough moved up to second and third respectively, the former 3-0 winners at Harlow Town, the latter edging Bedford 4-3. AFC Sudbury netted nine against Wroxham, with four for Alex Penny and three by Kate Edwards.

League Cup 1st Round – Biggleswade United beat St Ives Town 2-1 with substitute Kayleigh Gray scoring, Billericay Town Devs defeated AFC Dunstable 3-0 and Grays Athletic bowed out 4-2 at home to Barking.

EAST MIDLANDS – Dronfield fightback before winning on penalties

League Cup 1st Round – Dronfield Town fought back from 3-1 down at half-time to take Sherwood to extra-time at 4-4, then 5-5 after 120 minutes, Dronfield won 4-3 on penalties. Daisy Allen hit a hat-trick in Ilkeston Town’s 5-2 win at Notts County Devs, Maisy Dalton did likewise for Leicester City Ladies in defeating Lincoln United Devs 7-3, also Millie Kenyon for Oughtibridge WM as they went through 8-1 at SJR Worksop. Dunton & Broughton United edged out Thrapston Town 2-1 with a Nikki Lidgett brace, Rotherham United twice led Roade before the tie was settled in stoppage-time when Rachel Hale headed home at a corner.

Results elsewhere were; Anstey Nomads 5-1 Sleaford Town  Arnold Eagles 4-0 Peterborough United Devs, Basford United 4-1 Mansfield Hosiery Mills, Chesterfield H/W Coalville Town, Lincoln United H/W Gainsborough Trinity, Mansfield Town 3-1 Nottingham Trent University, Notts County 8-0 Loughborough Foxes Vixens, Kettering Town 5-2 West Bridgford, Northampton Town Devs 5-0 Grimsby Borough, Grimsby Town H/W Asfordby Amateurs.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Winchester nets treble for Worthing

1 South – Newhaven climbed three places to sixth when inflicting a sixth straight defeat on hosts Maidstone United, in a 3-1 scoreline.

League Cup 1st Round – Worthing were 5-2 winners over Eastbourne United aided by a Chloe Winchester treble,  Dartford got the only goal at Ashford United, Brentford accounted for AFC Acorns 2-1, Hastings United came through 5-3 at Montpelier Villa. Other results were; Bexhill United 1-6 Dulwich Hamlet, Sport London E Benfica 6-0 New London Lionesses, Fulham 3-0 Herne Bay, Aylesford 4-2 Steyning Town, Millwall Lionesses 4-0 Richmond Park, Dorking Wanderers 5-0 Whyteleafe.

NORTH EAST – Altofts win at leaders

Premier – Chester le Street Town beat Redcar Town 3-0 and South Shields won 3-1 away to Blyth Town to stay within striking distance of leaders Wallsend BC, who had a walkover against Harrogate Town. Sunderland West End just got the better of Alnwick Town as Pavanjot Kaur came off the bench to make it 2-1, while Wakefield were 5-0 winners over Hull United.

1 North – Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves hit Guisborough Town for six to go clear at the top, Hartlepool United are second following a 4-1 defeat of Hartlepool Pools Youth. West Allotment Celtic missed out on a first point when going down 5-4 at Washington, where Hannah Dixon’s hat-trick was added to by subs Abbey Howarth and  Abigail Phipps.

1 South – Altofts pulled off a 2-0 result at leaders Handsworth, Barnsley FC Ladies sank Sheffield United Foundation 7-1 to make up some ground, as did Ossett United in defeating Millmoor 2-0. Harworth Colliery’s Katie McCreadie got a couple in a 3-2 win at Sheffield Wednesday, Farsley Celtic Juniors ran out 7-2 victors at York Railway Institute, Ripon City’s six goals against Bradford Park Avenue featured a Teigan Ryan treble.

NORTH WEST – FC United in first place after Tranmere sting Cheadle

Premier – FC United of Manchester’s 5-0 result over Crewe Alexandra sent them top, as Cheadle Town Stingers surrendered the leadership having lost 1-0 at Tranmere Rovers. Curzon Ashton leapfrogged Salford City Lionesses into third place when overcoming them 5-1 away, Blackburn CSC returned from Darwen as 2-1 victors.

1 North – Haslingden hit Sir Tom Finney 8-0 to stay ahead of second-placed Blackpool, 2-0 winners over Workington Reds. Penrith and Accrington Stanley drew 2-2, Chorley Devs won 2-1 at Bolton Wanderers and Morecambe sent Carlisle United to a 2-0 defeat.

1 South – Runcorn Linnets were 3-1 winners at Altrincham, Northwich Vixens edged BRNESC 3-2 to overtake them on goal-difference, Warrington Wolves drew 2-2 with Wythenshawe Amateurs.

SOUTHERN – Bournemouth Sports takeover at top

Premier – Bournemouth Sports lead the table after they got the only goal at Oxford City and Wycombe Wanderers’ sub Naomi Tilley scored for a 1-1 tie at morning leaders Ascot United. Eastleigh edged Abingdon United 2-1 as substitutes Mizuki Ikeda and Hannah Peachey both hit the target.

1 North – The leading pair finished two apiece as Milton United were held by Penn & Tylers Green, Carterton are off the mark with a 1-1 draw at Kidlington, Woodley United won 5-0 at Caversham United.

SOUTH WEST – Olveston and Saltash reach summit

Premier – Sherborne Town stayed top when winning 3-1 against Warminster Town with Becky Narramore netting twice, closest rivals Forest Green Rovers beat Ilminster Town 6-2. Bishops Lydeard’s Imogen Miller bagged a brace during a 4-2 win at Royal Wootton Bassett Town, Torquay United got the sole goal in the battle with Bristol Rovers whom they now go above, Liskeard Athletic also won 1-0 but on their travels at Poole Town.

1 East – Frome Town downed leaders AEK Boco 2-1, Paulton Rovers won 3-0 at Stockwood Wanderers, Weymouth versus Pucklechurch Sports was abandoned due to a serious first-half injury.

1 North – SGS Olveston United’s 3-1 defeat of Oldland Abbotonians put them in pole position, as St Vallier held Frampton Rangers 1-1. Downend Flyers’ 7-1 scoreline against Chipping Sodbury Town saw Bethany Pitman clinch a four-goal haul.

1 West – Although Feniton beat leaders Budleigh Salterton 2-0 on their own turf, it is Saltash United who sit at the summit on goal-difference having hit Bideford 7-2, led by Hayley Ranachan’s five goals.

WEST MIDLANDS – Worcester City dead level with Sutton Coldfield

Premier – Worcester City are dead level with Sutton Coldfield Town at the top – but have played a game more – a 3-1 victory over Coundon Court in which Jennifer Higgs contributed a couple. Kidderminster Harriers beat Crusaders by the odd goal in five, it was three each between Lichfield City and Lye Town, Burton Albion beat Solihull Sporting with two unanswered goals.

1 North – Walsall Ladies extended their advantage after a 2-1 win at Coventry City, Walsall Wood had to settle for a 2-2 tie with AFC Telford United, whose substitute Megan Jones found the net. It ended goalless between City of Stoke and Port Vale, Tamworth banked their first points 4-0 at Wyrley.

1 South – Knowle sent hosts Droitwich Spa to a 7-0 defeat as Demi-Lee Rolph scored four times to help keep them top above Coventry Sphinx, 2-0 winners over Leamington Lions. Bewdley Town’s Rea Marsh got a brace in a 4-2 win at Rugby Borough, Kingfisher came out on top 4-3 against Long Itchington. Sedgley & Gornal United and Worcester City Devs was 2-2, Rugby Town’s Chloe Debaes got three of their 5-0 win at Westfields.
