Revenge is served. After the defeat in the Final of the last edition against Brøndby, the Primavera Femminile of Coach Corti won the Viareggio Women's Cup after penalty kicks, at the end of a very hard-fought match against the Rappresentativa LND. Twice in the lead, in the first half and in the first half of extra time, and twice pegged back, the Rossoneri deserved the victory already in regular time but they managed to win it from the penalty spot, with four spot-kicks scored out of four.

After sailing through the knockout stages (3 victories, 24 goals scored and 0 conceded), the opponent in the final proved to be compact, fierce and very organised, forcing the Rossonere to shoot largely from range. Goals arrived thanks to Cesarini and then Sevenius, but Battilana's goal took the game to penalty kicks. AC Milan then won their first Women's Cup, previously won by Juventus (twice) and Brøndby.

MATCH REPORT The Primavera side took the lead in the 15th minute, thanks to some fine work on the right by Sevenius, who crossed and found the head of Cesarini, making it 1-0. A few moments later Cesarini herself went close to doubling the lead, but her left-footed shot was somehow saved by Holzer. The Rappresentativa levelled in the 21st minute as Carcassi found Bauce at the back post, who could not miss to make it 1-1. Renzotti and Boldrini went close  before half-time but the score was level at the break.

It was all AC Milan after the break, with Holzer very busy. The Rappresentativa had a chance with Penzo's header but then returned to defending their own penalty area from the Rossoneri's advances, which became more intense as the half wore on. Sevenius spurned two big chances: the first in the 88th minute was saved smartly by the feet of Holzer, the second went inches wide of the post. It went 2-1 at the end of the first period of extra time: Sevenius received the ball from Mikulica and slotted through the keeper's legs. When the game seemed done, Battilana sent the game to penalties with a goal in the 123rd minute. Cesarini, Sevenius, Dal Brun and Mikulica were flawless from the spot and secured AC Milan the trophy.
