Summer was back and so was football for an increasing number of women’s teams in Sunday’s pre season friendlies.

Newcastle United netted two late goals to overturn Middlesbrough’s lead, Georgina Spraggan levelling and Rosie Missen heading the winner.

Amy Pollock gave Rotherham the advantage at the interval but goals by Chloe Finn and Grace Dickens in quick succession just past the midway point in the second half gave Tamworth victory.
