Women’s international friendlies on Friday 11 November featured a 4-0 win for Australia over Sweden, who are ranked second in the world.

Australia’s Sam Kerr broke the deadlock against Sweden approaching half-time, Caitlin Foord bagging a second-half brace with Mary Fowler netting in-between.

South Korea edged New Zealand 1-0 with Lee Min-a getting the goal on 31 minutes, Austria had a similar result against Italy thanks to Julia Hickelsberger-Fuller’s effort.

Viviana Asseyi scored an 83rd-minute winner for France, after Norway’s Sophie Roman Haug had cancelled out Kadidiatou Diani’s opener.

Denmark came from behind to beat Switzerland, Geraldine Reuteler gave the Swiss a second-half lead but Viola Calligaris conceded an own-goal and Signe Bruun netted the decider with 10 minutes left.

Canada beat Brazil 2-1 with all the goals coming in little over the first half hour. Shelina Zadorsky and Adriana Leon both found the net, with Debinha replying.

The Netherlands got all four goals against Costa Rica in the first half, Danielle van de Donk’s opener added to three times in a ten-minute spell before the break by Dominique Janssen, Fenna Kalma and Esmee Brugts.

Vanessa Marques got the first two goals as Portugal put five past Haiti, but then missed what would have been their third from the spot.

Poland hit Romania for six with Martyna Viankowska weighing in with a treble, Spain thrashed Argentina 7-0 as  Salma Paralluelo hit a 15-minute hat-trick straddling the interval.
