Chelsea eased to a 3-0 win over Arsenal to claim the delayed 2020/21 Women's FA Cup final in a comprehensive manner.

This meeting between the top two teams in the Women's Super League ended with second placed Chelsea outclassing the current leaders Arsenal in a game once they opened the scoring after only three minutes the Blues never looked liked relinquishing their control.

Apart from a ten minute period just before the break Arsenal were second best as Chelsea looked quicker and more sharp whilst their opponents too often caused themselves problems with individual and team errors.

Chelsea could have been three or four goals to the good by the break but for Arsenal keeper Manuela Zinsberger. Fran Kirby set the tone for the game by capitalising on some sloppy defending to break clear and finish clinically.

Sam Kerr brought a save out of Zinsberger before the keeper did well to prevent the goalscorer from getting a second and thwarted her again to tip an effort full stretch around the post.

Magdalena Eriksson was presented with free header from a corner but sent it wide. Kerr was through on goal but could only hit the crossbar and the thought now was would Chelsea regret these misses.

Arsenal did rally just before half-time but despite this pressure never tested Chelsea stopper Berger.

The Blues controlled the second period and Kirby now hit the woodwork on 71 minutes but any slim hopes of an Arsenal revival was extinguished 6 minutes later. Kerr ran at the retreating defence before firing home between the legs of the defender and wrong footing the keeper.

But the best goal was reserved for last as again the Gunners defence failed to deal with the pace of Kerr and the Australian forward raced clear before delightfully chipping Zinsberger.

Arsenal had defeated Chelsea in the opening game of the WSL and this result will have been some revenge for that shock 3-2 defeat and winning this delayed final also gave the Blues their first domestic treble.
