The defeat to Roma in their final match before the international break doesn’t take anything away from the great work done by the Rossonere in the preceding weeks. Three consecutive wins were accompanied by exponential growth in terms of the team’s play, confidence and character. There have been plenty of encouraging signs to build on.
After losing to Como and Fiorentina in their opening two fixtures, Coach Bakker’s side then went four unbeaten before falling to defeat to Roma, who have won the Scudetto in the past two seasons. Nevertheless, the Rossonere’s performance at the Tre Fontane underlined the team’s progress, which bodes well for the rest of the campaign.
After the international break, our girls will face Sassuolo at the PUMA House of Football at 18:00 CET on Sunday 03/11. Although the Rossonere’s next opponents sit bottom of the table with just one point to their name, AC Milan need to approach the match in the right way. It represents an opportunity to immediately return to winning ways and gain momentum going into their fixtures against Freedom in the Coppa Italia and Juventus in Serie A.
Dompig went off injured against Roma and will be out for a few weeks. Meanwhile, Grimshaw and Babb recently underwent arthroscopic surgery and are on the road to recovery from their respective injuries. As they wait to welcome Chanté, Christy and Selena back onto the pitch, the Rossonere are ready to go again.
