After a month-long break, the Women's Serie A is also back. The Rossonere's 2023 started off with a comfortable 7-0 win over Lazio in the Coppa Italia, seeing them progress to the quarter-finals. But it's now back to league action, with the last six league games of this first phase of the campaign set to take place in January and February. The league will then be split into two groups (relegation and Scudetto) to decide the final standings. AC Milan v Parma is scheduled to be played on Sunday at 12:30 CET, as part of the matchday 13 programme.

PUMA HOUSE OF FOOTBALL As already mentioned, the new year kicked off on the right foot for Coach Ganz's side, who must now set their intentions clear also in the league. Coming to the Vismara next are Parma, currently bottom of the table after twelve games. The Rossonere have everyone available, except Grimshaw and the two long-term absentees, Rimantė Jonušaitė and Silvia Rubio Ávila, as well as new signing Chanté Dompig; two players are also a doubt: Guðný Árnadóttir and Kosovare Asllani. With six games to go of this first phase of the competition, the ladies are in a strong position for a top-five finish, and will be looking to end up as high as possible in the final standings.

These are the Rossonere called up for the match: Babb, Fedele, Giuliani; Árnadóttir, Carage, Fusetti, Guagni, Mesjasz, Soffia, Thrige, Zanini; Adami, K. Dubcová, Mascarello, Vigilucci; Asllani, Bergamaschi, M. Dubcová, Piemonte, Sevenius, Thomas.

On the eve of the game, Maurizio Ganz had this to say: "After the excellent performance against Lazio in the cup, we're now expecting a tough first game back in the league. We're looking to do well against Parma and will give our all. Then, we have an intense two-week period coming up after that".

PARMA The Gialloblù have changed a lot since the reverse fixture, with Fabio Ulderici being replaced by Domenico Panico in the dugout at the beginning of November. The last few days have also seen movement in the transfer market with former Juventus players Brscic and Arcangeli, and Icelandic Margrét Árnadóttir, all joining. Instead, defender Sara Caiazzo has left the club. In their recent Coppa Italia match, Parma snatched a confidence-boosting 1-1 draw against Inter, but it wasn't enough for them to avoid being knocked out of the competition, and there sole focus now is surely surviving relegation.

PRE-MATCH The Rossonere have won their first Serie A game of the year on three out of four occasions, but have failed to register a win in their last two home games: 3-3 with Como and 0-2 against Roma. They have never in their history gone three games without a win at home. This fixture will see a side who has scored the most goals from set-pieces in this year's campaign – AC Milan with eight, including a record six from corners  – and another who has let in the most from dead-ball situations (Parma, with ten, including three from corners)
